Throughout my day...

funny things my grandparents say or do and/or things around this town

1. Apparently trick-or-treating is a new fangled thing because my grandpa (age 82)never did such a thing growing up. My grandmother is slightly older (age 87) and she said in Queens you would dress up like a ragamuffin (a poor begger pretty much, you would go to houses or stores and say "anything for thanksgiving?" then people would give you candy and snacks.

2. My grandparents have been together for over 60 years and over this long span of time they have had many pets, one of the first was a siamese cat named Toby. When this cat was younge it would climb all over things and ruin curtains, as punishment my grandfather would stick Toby's face in some water. Oh, yes animal abuse at it's finest. Later my grandparents had many dogs who had to be put down, one was provocked by some neighbor kid and when it jumped on this child it scratched it and the dog had to be put down. A different dog was very sweet but changed when a man on a bike hit it with a pipe, after that event the dog became mean bit someone else and was put down also.

3. While in heaven (dunkin donuts) today some idiot had a bumper stick that read "ALLAH, protect me from your followers." WTF?!?! If it was in a dark alley I would have keyed that car and maybe bashed in a window!

4. If you haven't noticed I have yet to blog about the loss of my cousin, I feel like I need to make it really good, inspiring and include lots of pictures but I will do it soon enough. In relation to the fact when my grandparents talk about it they don't even seem sad, maybe it's because they have seen lots of death but they just reffer to his death as "the situation with Kyle," it kinda pisses me off that this is hurting them more.

5. I helped my grandma set up her facebook, she is quite possibly the oldest person on facebook.

6. Apparently ALL of my grandparents friends are dead and they are the only ones left, I guess at least this means I have a good chance of living a long life...

7. My mothers cousin Steve lived in a hippy commune (just like the Marxist communism and how Ms. Bader said that was the best form of communism seen in history so far) in this commune they made maple syrup for money, that sounds so cool! I wish I could do that! Also in this commune there are some funny cat stories too, one of the hippy women who lived in the commune raised mentally retarted cats. These cats couldn't walk regularly and they would twitch around on the ground until they got nar a wall that they would lean near to help them walk, and at corners they would fall over again and twitch until they could prop themselves up againt the other wall.
